About GoWira

An independent publisher of relocation data · Last updated: April 2026

What we do

GoWira is an independent online publication and comparison tool for people considering an international move. We focus on the questions that genuinely change the outcome of a relocation: how the move affects your real take-home pay, your effective tax burden, your monthly cost of living, your access to healthcare, your visa eligibility, and the practical quality-of-life differences between origin and destination.

The Service covers 40+ jurisdictions and 450+ cities, with structured calculators alongside long-form editorial content. It is offered free of charge to readers; the Operator is funded by selected affiliate referrals to relocation-adjacent merchants (insurance, banking, visa support, housing) and by display advertising. Commercial relationships are disclosed in the legal notice and never alter editorial conclusions.

Who runs GoWira

GoWira is operated by an independent natural person established in the European Economic Area, currently in pre-incorporation phase, working under the GoWira brand. The Operator is the data Controller within the meaning of Article 4(7) GDPR and editorial responsible within the meaning of Article 5 of Directive 2000/31/EC.

Detailed legal identification (full legal name of the Operator, postal address, and any tax registration number applicable on the date of the request) is provided in writing on reasoned request from a competent supervisory authority, regulator, payment processor performing know-your-customer review, or commercial counterpart performing standard publisher due diligence. Such requests should be addressed to [email protected] with the subject line "Legal Identification" or "Due Diligence", and are answered within fifteen (15) calendar days at the latest.

Day-to-day editorial work is supported by a rotating set of independent researchers and subject-matter contributors engaged on specific topics (international taxation, immigration policy, public health systems, urban quality-of-life metrics). Contributors do not hold editorial control over the conclusions of the Service; final responsibility lies with the Operator.

How we build the comparisons

Every figure displayed on GoWira is derived from publicly available primary sources. We do not collect tax data through scraping of competitor sites; we do not buy proprietary datasets that we cannot publicly cite. The principal source families are:

  • Official statistical agencies of each jurisdiction (Eurostat at EU level; national statistical offices for member states; OECD Tax Database; IMF Government Finance Statistics; World Bank Open Data).
  • Tax administrations of the relevant jurisdictions (income tax tables, social security contribution tables, VAT and excise schedules, residency and domicile rules, double-taxation treaty texts).
  • Immigration authorities and consular services of the relevant jurisdictions for visa requirements, residency permits, and digital-nomad regimes.
  • Health ministries and equivalent for healthcare access rules; supranational health bodies (WHO, ECDC) for cross-cutting indicators.
  • Cost-of-living and rental indicators are derived from a blend of national statistical agencies and crowd-sourced datasets that we triangulate to filter outliers; we do not present a single source as canonical when there is material divergence.

The data is updated on a continuous basis through automated pipelines that ingest official publications and through periodic editorial review. Where a calculation depends on a value that has changed since the last update, the Service will indicate the date as of which the figure was last verified.

Editorial standards

GoWira commits to the following standards in the production of its content:

  • Source citation. Tax tables and statutory rules are accompanied by a citation of the underlying primary source (statute, ministerial order, or official publication of the relevant tax administration).
  • Disclosure of limitations. Where a calculator is unable to reflect a User-specific situation (regional surcharges, special regimes, treaty-based exemptions), the limitation is stated explicitly in the Service rather than being silently absorbed into the figure.
  • Affiliate disclosure. Where the Service receives a referral fee for a click or a sign-up, that fact is disclosed in the legal notice. Commercial relationships do not influence the order or the substance of any comparison, ranking, calculation, or narrative produced by the Service.
  • Corrections. Substantiated corrections are issued within seven (7) calendar days of the Operator becoming aware of the error. Material corrections are flagged within the affected article and, where the magnitude warrants it, surfaced on a corrections page.
  • Independence. No paid placement, sponsored content, or guest post that is not clearly labelled as commercial appears on the Service.

What we do not do

GoWira does not provide regulated financial, tax, immigration, or legal advisory services. The Operator holds no licence to do so and does not represent itself as authorised to give such advice. The Service is informational. Where a User requires advice on a specific personal situation — particularly in matters of tax residency determination, visa eligibility for a specific case, transfer of pension rights, or estate planning across borders — the User should consult a qualified professional licensed in the relevant jurisdiction before acting on any output of the Service.
